Never scan with the camera app: go to Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM. If the QR still refuses, choose 'Enter activation code' and type the SM-DP+ address and code manually — both are on your order page.
The camera app doesn't understand eSIM codes on every Samsung model. The right path: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code. That hands the code to the phone's eSIM system instead of the camera. Make sure you're on wifi during install — the profile downloads over the network.
A phone can't scan a QR shown on its own screen. Open your order page on a laptop, tablet or a family member's phone — or print it. Turn the screen brightness up and hold the phone 20–30 cm away. Glare and scratched screen protectors fool the camera more often than you'd think.
The QR is just a convenience to avoid typing. In the same place (Add eSIM), choose 'Enter activation code' instead. Your Karib order page shows the SM-DP+ address and activation code in plain text with copy buttons — paste, done. This works on every eSIM-capable Samsung.
If the phone says 'invalid code': restart it and retry — and check the profile isn't already installed (an eSIM profile downloads once; moving to a new phone? Message us on WhatsApp).
In SIM manager: (1) set Mobile data to the Karib eSIM, (2) keep Calls on your home SIM so bank texts arrive, (3) turn data roaming ON for the eSIM — sounds backwards, but a travel eSIM technically roams on the local network and needs that switch on. Your home SIM keeps data roaming OFF.
Galaxy S20 and later, the Z Flip/Fold series, and most A-series from 2023 onward — but some regional variants lack eSIM. Run our compatibility check before paying; it blocks you if your model won't work.
Yes — install at home on wifi, calmly. The plan only starts counting when the eSIM connects to a network at your destination, so installing early costs you nothing.
